Good Housekeeping Deposit

To be in line with the industry standards of major holiday parks, we collect a ‘card-reading’ good housekeeping deposit for all our accommodation upon arrival. The amount is £200.

This is taken as a credit reading on your card upon arrival. No money is taken from your account and will show as a pending transaction within your banking app. This is released from your card within 24hrs of your departure (in most instances, sooner). Monzo and Revolut accounts have been known to take up to 30 days to return funds due to online processing times. We will contact you if there is any need to discuss any incidents.

Deposits cover substantial damage and loss of contents, additional cleaning costs (including having a dog in a dog free accommodation), smoking damage or any incurred costs that are not part of your package. If you have hired an accommodation with a hot tub, any damage to your tub arising from your use can be retained from the deposit. Normal wear and tear and minor incidentals such as a broken wine glass are not part of damage deposits. We kindly ask you to note any minor damage to your accommodation before you leave.

FAQ's

Is this something new?
This policy was brought in from 2023.

Why have you implemented the Good Housekeeping Deposit?
Unfortunately we have seen a significant rise in damage in our accommodation over the past couple of years. Accommodation is being left in particularly dirty conditions, with items being taken that should not be (pillows, duvets, linen and even plates!)
Last year we spent in the region of £20,000 repairing careless damage, and costs exceeding this replacing general items.

What if I accidentally damage our accommodation?
We know this happens and sometimes it cannot be helped! We are an understanding family run park. If you accidentally damage the accommodation you are staying in, please report this immediately to the reception team. Any damage that is not reported, will be deducted from the Good House keeping deposit towards the repair of the accommodation.

What if I find our accommodation damaged on arrival?
Our housekeeping team have a strict reporting process that will notify us of any damage in your accommodation. However, if you do find any damage that you feel we may have missed, please report it to us at the beginning of your stay at check in to prevent any charges.

I have accidentally taken an item from the caravan, what shall I do?
Again, we know this can happen. Please contact us and return the item to avoid being charged. Letting us know as soon as you do will be extremely helpful.

Is this a cleaning charge?
No. We understand there will be holiday use of our accommodation, however extra charges may be made for particularly dirty units. Examples of this are excessive washing up, dirty upholstery, dog wear on sofas and beds, wet mattresses and make up on linen.

Can I smoke in my accommodation?
No. All of our accommodation is completely smoke free. If we find evidence of smoking in an accommodation, the Good House keeping deposit will be used towards it being professionally cleaned and any losses in occupation.

Are you taking the money from my account?
No money is taken from your account or credit card. It is simply a hold over the amount until after you check out.
